We Travel Not To Escape Life But For Life Not To Escape Us

Yesterday was another LONG DAY. We started off our morning getting new tires put onto the camper – nothing crazy happened they were just over 10 years old and getting very worn. They finished that around 12:30, so it was a later driving start than we were used to. Our hope was to make it to the Grand Canyon Village (about a 7 hr drive) but we later found out that they were completely booked for the night. You would think we would learn to plan ahead, but I think just going with the flow is part of the adventure.

Grand Canyon Camper Village: ($46/night): After staying at the campground in Durango, this one is a bit of a bummer. It really is just a bunch of RVs parked really close together. The weather has been pretty chilly (around 40’s) so we really don’t want to site outside anyways. We do have water and electricity, but will have to dump at the main station. It’s a decent stay if you are just interested in being close to the Grand Canyon.

This morning the four of us loaded into the truck and drove around the Grand Canyon – seriously the views are beyond amazing!!

Tomorrow Derek and I are hoping to actual hike a trail in the Grand Canyon, so we will see how that goes. As for plans after that we aren’t really sure. Originally, we were hoping to spend the weekend in Page, AZ. But once again we didn’t plan and there aren’t any openings – so we will have to change that idea a little 😉 I mean, this is supposed to be an adventure right!
